One of the things that you get confronted with when being a scholar is traveling. Mainly traveling to conferences, symposia, and workshops. And this can even happen if you didn't submit a paper to that particular conference. And that is excatly what happened to me just about now. I am writing these lines from the Aula in the Schloss building at the University of Osnabrück.

Wir haben es geschafft! Zum zweiten mal sind wir, die AllemaniACs, Weltmeister im RoboCup@Home Wettbewerb bei den RoboCup Weltmeisterschaften in Atlanta geworden. Detailiiertere Ergebnisse gibt's auf dem Wiki zum RoboCup.

We, the AllemaniACs RoboCup Team, are leaving for the RoboCup 2007 World Championship soon. After completing all the nasty paperwork - it was a whole lot of it, trust me - we are almost ready to get on the plane and try our best in this year's competitions. Our robots were already shipped to the US a week ago and we are about to follow now.
I'll try to keep you up to date on how we are doing abroad.

Es ist soweit, ich zieh' um. Was für 'ne Aktion. Mit dem elterlichen Auto zu IKEA nach Holland, viel zu lange rumgestöbert, geguckt, beraten, aufgeladen. Schließlich den Wagen randvoll gemacht, also so richtig randvoll, innen passt kein Blatt Papier mehr rein. Den Rest, namentlich zwei Schreibtische, ein Lattenrost und ein Bett auf's Dach, natürlich fachmännisch befestigt und gesichert.
